About Me

I am currently a visiting assistant professor at Colgate University. Before that, I taught at Cornell University’s Sage School of Philosophy for two years, first as the Philosophical Review Lecturer and then as a Visiting Assistant Professor. And before that, I was a graduate student in the philosophy department at Cornell. I’m up to nine years now living in upstate New York.

Before coming to Ithaca, I was a graduate student for two years at Yale Divinity School, where I completed a masters of arts in religion, concentrating in philosophical theology. I was an undergraduate at Calvin College from 2001-2005, where I double majored in political science and religion. In the gap year between Calvin and Yale, I worked third shift unloading semi-trucks at Office Outlet.

Since 2008, I’ve been married to the most in the world, and in 2014 we welcomed a  into our lives. She’s turning out to be quite a handful, in the best of ways.
